You have the market. We bring together the team to deliver the product.
You know your market, and you have demand, customers, prospects or letters of intent? We help you bring together the right technical team, infrastructure and support to make your product a reality.
Each with its own role
You have already done the hardest part: finding real demand. What remains is building the product, and that’s where we come in.
What you bring
- Knowledge of your market, your customers and their real needs
- Observed demand: customers, prospects, letters of intent or pre-sales
- Your relationships with the first customers, who will take part in the pilot project
- The product vision and business decisions: pricing, priorities, go-to-market
- A person available to validate choices throughout the project
What we bring
- A tailored technical team: developers, infrastructure, security and artificial intelligence
- Technical scoping: architecture, estimate and phased roadmap
- The infrastructure to develop, test and operate the product in Canada
- Operations and support once the product is in production
- Financing options, to be discussed based on the project
What we bring together around your project
-
The technical team
Architecture, development, artificial intelligence, security and integrations: the skills you need, without having to build a full team from day one.
-
The infrastructure
Hosting, environments and services operated in Canada, ready to support the product from the first customer through growth.
-
The support
Planning, prioritization and regular follow-up: you stay in charge of business decisions, we take care of technical execution.
-
A tailored model
The collaboration model is set with you, based on the demand you have validated, your objectives and your timeline.
From market to product, step by step
Having demand is a major asset. It still has to be turned into a delivered product, at the right time and without exhausting the business. Here is how we proceed, and what you get at each step.
-
Validating demand and letters of intent
We review the evidence of demand with you: who the customers are, what problem they want to solve, what they have committed to (trial, purchase, pre-sale) and on what terms. We also identify the needs that recur from one customer to the next.
What you get: a clear list of confirmed needs and the assumptions that still need to be verified.
-
Scoping and roadmap
We translate these needs into a product: core features, architecture, integrations, security and hosting. The project is broken into phases, and each phase is estimated.
What you get: a technical plan, an estimate and a phased roadmap.
-
Building the team
We bring together the skills the product requires: developers and specialists in infrastructure, security and artificial intelligence. The team adjusts at each phase, without you having to hire ahead of time.
What you get: a team in place and a designated project lead.
-
MVP and pilot project with the first customers
We build a first version focused on the essentials and put it in the hands of your first customers, often those who signed a letter of intent. Their feedback guides the adjustments.
What you get: a product used in real conditions and concrete feedback from your customers.
-
Scaling up
Once the product is validated, we add the priority features, strengthen security and performance, and adapt the infrastructure to a growing number of customers.
What you get: a product ready to be sold more widely.
-
Operations and support
Hosting in Canada, monitoring, backups, updates, patches and support: the product is run day to day while you focus on your sales.
What you get: a stable service and planned product evolution.
Your letters of intent, a lever for financing
A letter of intent is not a sale. It does show, however, that a serious customer is ready to go further if the product meets its needs. Well documented, it can carry a lot of weight in a financing application.
-
Demonstrate demand
For an investor or a lender, signed letters of intent and pre-sales are concrete proof that the market exists, far more convincing than a general study.
-
Clarify the product
The conditions mentioned in the letters (expected features, timelines, volumes) help define the MVP and estimate the project more accurately.
-
Support your application
We incorporate these elements into the technical plan, the estimate and the roadmap you will present to your financial partners. We can also point out the technical information worth specifying in your next letters.
The value of a letter of intent depends on its content and on who evaluates it: on its own, it does not guarantee that financing will be obtained.
The risks we help you avoid
Many commercial projects fail not for lack of customers, but because of well-known pitfalls. We keep an eye on them with you from start to finish.
-
Building too much, too soon
An overloaded product is expensive and delays the launch. The MVP focuses on what your first customers actually asked for.
-
Depending on a single person
A lone developer is a risk if they leave the project. A team, up-to-date documentation and accessible source code protect continuity.
-
Underestimating operations
An online product has to be hosted, monitored, backed up and updated. We factor this in from the start, not after launch.
-
Neglecting security
Business customers ask security and privacy questions. We build them into the design rather than addressing them at the last minute.
-
Disappointing the first customers
Slipping deadlines can cool down prospects who were committed. A realistic timeline and regular deliveries let you keep your word.
-
Running out of cash
A large initial investment can weaken the business. Phased development and financing options spread the effort over time.
Financing your project
You have the demand, but not necessarily the funds to pay for all the development upfront. Rather than asking you for a large upfront investment, we work with you to find the best way to spread the financial effort over time.
Here are the options we can put on the table. They are often combined and are always set according to the project, to be discussed together.
-
Option 1
Monthly payments instead of a big cheque
Development costs can be spread into monthly payments suited to your situation, instead of being paid upfront. You keep your cash for sales, marketing and operations.
-
Option 2
Infrastructure included in the monthly payment
Hosting in Canada, development, test and production environments, monitoring and backups can be bundled into the same monthly payment. A predictable bill, with no equipment to buy.
-
Option 3
Co-development and risk sharing
When demand is well demonstrated and the project is promising, we can share part of the risk with you, for example through equity, royalties or revenue sharing. Terms are to be agreed.
-
Option 4
Phased development
We first deliver an MVP for your first customers. The following phases can then be financed, in whole or in part, by the revenue from those first sales.
-
Option 5
Assistance programs and tax credits
Some programs can reduce the real cost of an innovation project, such as Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credits or government innovation programs. We help you prepare the technical portion of your applications.
-
Option 6
A solid case for investors and lenders
With your letters of intent and pre-sales, we prepare the technical plan, the estimate and the roadmap that show your financial partners what will be built, how and at what cost.
Good to know: none of these options is automatic. We assess them together based on the project’s scope, the demonstrated demand and your situation, and everything is set out in writing in the agreement before work begins. For assistance programs and tax credits, eligibility and amounts are determined by the agencies concerned: we cannot guarantee them and recommend that you confirm with your accountant or a specialist.
Sample timeline
Illustrative example: every project follows its own path.
- Presenting the demandYou present your market, your interested customers and your letters of intent. We prepare an initial estimate and propose one or more financing options.
- File and agreementWe prepare the technical plan and roadmap that support your financing efforts. The chosen model is set out in the contract, including intellectual property.
- MVP and pilotThe first version is developed and hosted in Canada, with monthly payments that cover development and infrastructure. Your first customers use it as a pilot project.
- First salesPilot customers become paying customers. Their feedback and your first revenues shape the next phase.
- GrowthNew features and scaling are planned at the pace of your sales, the assistance programs obtained or external financing.
Frequently asked questions
Who owns the code and the intellectual property?
It is defined in the contract, according to the chosen model. Development paid in monthly instalments and co-development with risk sharing do not necessarily lead to the same terms. In all cases, ownership of the code, data and intellectual property is set out in writing before work begins.
What happens if the project evolves?
That’s normal, and even desirable: your first customers will likely shift priorities. Because the work is planned in phases, we review the scope, the timeline and, if needed, the financial terms together at each stage.
How long before we have a first product?
It depends on the project’s scope. That’s why we often start with an MVP: a first version limited to the essentials, which lets you serve your first customers quickly before investing further. We give you a realistic timeline from the scoping stage.
Do I need to have a team already?
No. We can provide the complete technical team: development, infrastructure, security and artificial intelligence. If you already have in-house resources, we work with them. What matters is having someone on your side who knows the market and makes the business decisions.
